Meatfest 2007 Tournament

On Saturday, March 17th, the team traveled back to Alameda to compete in the second annual Meatfest tournament. The highlight for us was probably our first game against Redwood High School's Gymnosperms. We led most of the game, but then the Gymnosperms finally mounted a comeback and pulled ahead 7-6 just before the hard cap came on. The team hurried back to the line and was ready to receive the pull when the hard cap came on, so Redwood was forced to pull again. ATC scored to tie the game, making the next point sudden death, then went on to win the game 8-7. Our defense was spurred on by a magic amputated doll arm I found on the side of the field at the beginning of the game ("who wants the hand????") After the game, a couple of Gymnosperms brought us the doll buttocks, which they'd found elsewhere on the field. These are treasures we will cherish forever.
