Course Description

Welcome to the fantastically fun world of computer arts and design!

This class is a project-based class; we work on one project till its completion, and then we have a critique. The projects can take a few days to a few weeks, and you just might see some students in here working on rpg tool kit games from last semester.
Projects will be assigned in the first half of the semester (unless you are a returning student), and in the 4th quarter we will talk about your individual capabilities for independent work.

Some of the assigned Projects will be:
  • Poster for a Play/Concert
  • Cd cover
  • Self Portrait
  • Collage
  • Book/Comic book/Zine
  • Animation (optional)
  • Postcard series
  • Pop Icons

Great possibilities for independent projects area:

  • Video projects
  • Websites
  • Book/Zine layout
  • Video game creation in RPG toolkit

Classroom Expectations

  • No headphones
  • Please turn off your computer at the end of your time
  • No hacking

Grading

About the critiques¦ when the creating is done it's time to share your digital experience with the class and myself. This critique process is an integral part of learning in the arts, whether that be the fine arts, or digital arts. During critiques everyone will present work and everyone is invited to comment on each other's work. We listen to each other and are respectful. This is how we grow in our medium!

Late Policy

No late work, not even a day late. If you are absent, please make an appointment with me to get caught up. No work = no grade.
